Fixed-term position available for 3 years at 0.6FTE


This ARC Grant Funded Researcher (B) position is an opportunity to assess the extent to which Australian government policy in the area of food and agriculture take account of their health impact.

The study will use document analysis of key policy documents and interviews with policy actors from government, academic and non-government organisations.

Our analysis will be guided by theories from political science and the social and commercial determinants of health. The project findings will inform the development of healthy public policy.

The project is a partnership between Professor Fran Baum at Stretton Health Equity, University of Adelaide and Professor Dora Marinova.

The successful applicant will be based with the vibrant Stretton Health Equity team which offers an extremely collegiate and supportive environment.


To be successful you will need:

  • A Ph.
D. in public health, social sciences or other relevant discipline, or equivalent research and publication experience.

  • Experience working in a competitive research environment in an area focused on the impacts of social, economic, commercial, and environmental determinants of population health.
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding the role of food in the health of the people and the environment.
  • Ability to attract competitive external research funds.
  • Experience in project administration with a demonstrated ability to plan, budget, document and monitor activities.
