This is a permanent full-time role based in Brisbane, Australia.

 

Enough about us What you’ll do as a Digital and Queensland News Producer:  

 

The  Digital News and Queensland News Producer is part of the 10 News First team, responsible for creating compelling news content for social media, covering breaking news as it happens, and working with Queensland broadcast team with social and digital coverage and broadcast support. 

 

What will you be doing?  

 

  • Source, research, and produce compelling news stories and posts for 10 News First’s Digital accounts with a focus on video

  • Manage 10 News First social accounts and apply rigid community moderation standards

  • Work with broadcast teams, helping when need working on bulletins including sourcing, packaging and editing

  • Write for social and broadcast with a strong sense of our strategic tone, style and voice ensuring accuracy and consistency of tone

  • Have knowledge of breaking news procedures, including how major stories are covered on social media and on broadcast news bulletins

  • Develop relationships and trust within the newsroom

 

What are we looking for? What’s essential?   

 

  • Previous experience in a newsroom/news production environment

  • Have video and photo editing skills – experience with Canva and Adobe Premiere preferred

  • A passion for all-things social media and content production

  • Ability to seek out compelling stories, trends, and ideas using social and digital media

  • Ability to work with CMS and other systems for digital and broadcast output of 10 News bulletins

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced news environment

  • Ability to foster and manage key working relationships both within a local newsroom and across a nationally based social team

  • Work in-office and are flexible with hours
