Job Description

Join the Award-Winning News Team at 9News Queensland.

9News Queensland is seeking a producer to join the Brisbane newsroom covering the most significant and impactful stories from across Queensland.

As a 9News producer, you'll be responsible for working in a dynamic newsroom gathering and creating high-quality journalism content which informs, educates and engages our viewers.

Day to day, you will report to the Executive Producer, and your duties will include but are not limited to the below:

Support the Executive Producer with the creation and delivery of audience-focused content. Develop content ideas, research, scripting and editing stories. Identify stories and angles which will resonate with viewers. Cross-checking material for accuracy and ensuring content is legally sound. Working within a team to support delivery of news items across 4pm and 6pm bulletins. Assist in rolling coverage of breaking news events. Work in control room environment to put broadcasts to air.  Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising tasks to ensure deadlines are met.

As a producer you will have:

Knowledge of news and current affairs. Experience in tv, radio or other news media. Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills. Strong communication and broadcast-writing skills. Creative thinking: 9News producers think outside the box. The capacity to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-focused environment. Have a sound understanding of media and broadcast law. Most importantly, be a team player
