An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and meticulous Accounts Payable Specialist to join a reputable educational institution. The role primarily involves managing the receipt and distribution of invoices across various departments, ensuring timely processing of payments, and maintaining orderly files. This is a temporary part-time position requiring commitment for 4-6 weeks, with the potential for extension. The successful candidate will have the chance to work in a vibrant environment located in the Eastern Suburbs.

  • Predominantly focused on accounts payable and invoice processing
  • Temporary support role for 4-6 weeks on a part-time basis (3-4 days)
  • Must possess a valid Working with Children's Check and be willing to obtain an RAAHN Check

What you'll do:

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining financial order within our client's organisation. Your primary responsibility will be managing the receipt and distribution of invoices across various departments, ensuring that all payments are processed promptly and accurately. You will also be tasked with verifying expense allocations against Cost Centre budgets, maintaining orderly files for all payments, and responding to any queries from suppliers or staff. Additionally, you will handle regular reconciliations of Petty Cash, Cash Floats, and monthly supplier statements.

  • Manage the receipt and distribution of invoices to various departments within the organisation
  • Ensure timely processing of invoices, BPAYs, and staff reimbursements
  • Handle the weekly AP Payment run efficiently
  • Verify expense allocations against Cost Centre budgets
  • Maintain orderly and accurate files (scanned paperwork) for all payments
  • Respond to suppliers and staff queries in a timely manner
  • Reconcile Petty Cash and Cash Floats regularly
  • Perform reconciliation of monthly supplier statements

The ideal candidate for this Accounts Payable Specialist role brings along proven experience in a similar role, demonstrating strong understanding of accounting principles and invoice processing. They possess excellent organisational skills that allow her to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining meticulous attention to detail. Their exceptional interpersonal skills enable them to communicate effectively with suppliers and staff alike. Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite is essential. Importantly, they must possess a valid Working with Children's Check and be willing to obtain an RAAHN Check.

  • Proven experience in an Accounts Payable role or similar
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and invoice processing
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with suppliers and staff
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Possession of a valid Working with Children's Check
  • Willingness to obtain an RAAHN Check
