Opportunity:

We are currently recruiting for a Project Accountant ASO4 ($48.35 per hour + super) with one of our state government clients for a short term contract with possibility of extension.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the quality and integrity of data and reports extracted from the administration systems for Super SA administered schemes.
  • Undertaking the various reconciliations between the general ledger, bank accounts, administration systems and accounts.
  • Undertaking and supervising the preparation of timely, accurate and high-quality financial statements in accordance with Auditor-General, applicable Accounting Standards and Treasurerâs Instructions.
  • Liaising with the external auditor and Auditor Generalâs department with regards to year-end audit requirements and to resolve audit related matters.
  • Creating, reviewing, and maintaining appropriate Chart of Accounts to facilitate preparation of various financial reports and reconciliations.

    To be considered for the role you will ideally have:

    • Knowledge of financial accounting and reporting functions
      • Experience in the preparation, review and analysis of financial statements
      • Experience in analysing transactional data and making recommendations to decision makers
      • Proven experience and attention to detail when performing complex financial reconciliations.
      • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Finance
      • Work experience in government (desirable)
      • Excellent communication skills
      • Proficient computer skills including MS Office
      • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel
