Job Description

Danfoss is looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to join our Climate Solutions Division, with the drive and motivation to achieve the sales growth targets for the HVAC/R product portfolio.  

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with channel partners, providing technical expertise and support for their sales activities to ensure sales budget is achieved.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to potential customers, highlighting key features and benefits.
  • Collaborate with sales teams and channel partners to identify customer needs and develop solutions that fit their requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of sales proposals and quotes, including the technical aspects of the solution.
  • Coordinate with technical teams and product managers to provide feedback and input on product development and enhancements.
  • Train channel partners’ sales teams on product knowledge and technical selling techniques.
  • Participate in trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events to promote the company’s products and generate leads.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to channel partners during the sales process, ensuring successful solution implementation.
  • Collaborate with other internal sales team to share best practices, industry trends, and technical knowledge.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor products, and new technologies to provide valuable insights and recommendations to channel partners and sales teams.
  • Participate in sales meetings along with trade shows as required.       
  • Provide status reports on work as required, including sales forecast. 
  • Maintain accurate records on target accounts, opportunities, quotes, projects, contacts and correspondence. 
  • Works collaboratively to ensure relevant internal staff are kept informed and aware of any potential risks associated with sales closure.   
Background & Skills

The ideal candidate possesses these skills:

  • Education: A tertiary qualification in mechanical engineering or trade with relevant experience.
  • Technical skills: Ability to understand and explain technical concepts.
  •  Sales and communication skills: Excellent sales and communication skills are essential to effectively communicate technical information to customers and partners. You should possess the ability to make technical presentations, conduct product demonstrations, and effectively communicate the value of the company’s products or solutions.
  • Problem-solving skills: Ability identify and understand customer needs and tailor solutions accordingly. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically are important in this role.
  • Industry knowledge: Familiarity with the industry, market trends, competitors, and the company’s position within the industry is beneficial.
  • Sales experience: Prior sales experience, preferably in a technical role, is preferred. Familiarity with the sales process, including prospecting, qualifying leads, and closing deals, is advantageous.
  • Interpersonal skills: Good interpersonal skills are required to build relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Travel availability: You may need to travel frequently to meet with customers, partners, or attend industry events. Flexibility and willingness to travel is required.
  • Self-Motivation – A willingness to learn and a can-do attitude.
