Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, analyse, and make recommendations on development applications, providing expert advice on statutory planning matters.
  • Offer specialised guidance on land use, urban design, and built form to ensure best practices for economic, social, and environmental outcomes.
  • Prepare professional written reports, interpretations, briefings, presentations, and other documentation.
  • Advise on the interpretation and application of the relevant legislation and other relevant development policies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including departmental officers, state and local government agencies, the development industry, and the community, to ensure timely and high-quality development assessment outcomes.
  • Employ effective communication and negotiation skills to engage with stakeholders, resolve issues, and reduce the need for additional information.
  • Independently manage a personal caseload of development applications while working collaboratively within a project team to negotiate, prioritise, and deliver the teamâs assessment responsibilities.


    Skills & Experience:

    • Relevant academic qualifications in Planning
    • Working knowledge of planning legislation and regulations
    • Extensive experience in statutory planning within the public and/or consulting
    • Strong oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
    • Demonstrated initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while contributing to team goals
