About the Role:

My client is seeking a motivated Design Manager to join their team in Brisbane. In this role, you will be pivotal in designing, planning, and optimizing battery-based energy storage systems for applications such as grid stabilization, energy management, and backup power.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Design: Lead the design, development, and deployment of BESS projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Feasibility Studies: Conduct initial assessments and feasibility studies to determine project viability and requirements.
  • Preliminary and Detailed Design: Develop conceptual and detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications for BESS components.
  • Modeling and Simulation: Utilize simulation tools to analyze BESS performance under various conditions.
  • Component Selection: Choose appropriate technologies and components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and support materials.
  • Engineering Support: Collaborate with project teams to ensure seamless project execution and integration with renewable energy sources.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct design reviews, testing, and validation to uphold project quality and safety standards.
  • Client Interaction: Participate in client meetings to present design concepts and technical details.
  • Travel: Occasional travel to project sites, client meetings, and vendor locations may be required.

    About You:

    • Qualifications: Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
    • Experience: Proven experience in battery energy storage systems (BESS), preferably with utility-scale project delivery.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other relevant design tools.
    • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and present to clients and stakeholders.
    • Problem Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
