About the Opportunity

The purpose of this role is to lead and develop Flight Centre Travel Group's (FCTG) Australian Air Procurement discipline.

You will be responsible for the success of the Air supply chain, ensuring we are the partner of choice, providing extensive Air content. This will be achieved by fostering strong supply partnerships, ensuring long-term sustainable commercial returns, and developing a clear Australian Air Procurement Strategy.

Key objectives of the role are to lead a highly motivated team of skilled negotiators and sales strategists to produce best-in-market commercial dealing models, drive revenue growth and foster collaborative supplier partnerships.  

 

What you will be doing:

1. Supply Management

Proactively manage a selection of airline contracts and lead a team of Supplier Relationship Managers and Sales Strategists within the Australian Market.

Key Objectives:

    • Manage the Australian Airline Procurement area - both managing a team and negotiating contracts
    • Contracting competitive products that have maximum margin, and positive override ROI
    • Manage and develop supplier SLAs
    • Manage suppliers we choose to deal with, ensuring we have maximum participation and marketing income
    • Content that is easily accessible and implemented within tech platforms, GDS and new distribution capability platforms (NDC)
    • Collaboration with partners/brands on Air product requirements

2. Relationships

Collaborate and enhance relationships with suppliers and brands. Ensuring Air Supply has the best product and commercial returns to enable our partners to deliver on their product strategies. Work with Product and Marketing teams to ensure products receive maximum exposure internally and externally.

Key Objectives:

    • Maximise Co-op / Marketing / Sponsorship opportunities
    • Deliver a globally consistent approach to Australian procurement and product delivery
    • Foster strong relationships with key multi-level internal stakeholders
    • Deliver a team of product experts enabling Air Supply to represent and provide local support to partners

3. Product Strategy and Development

Implement a strategy that drives consistency and transparency at an Australian level in line with global procurement fundamentals. Review, secure and elevate key strategic partners that support and maximise supply returns. Work with FCTG Brand leaders to ensure product strategies are communicated and aligned. Meet all sales and override targets in line with budgets and FCTG strategy.

Key Objectives:

    • Maximise preferred supplier contract value
    • Contribute to new product initiatives e.g.: branded ranges
    • Channel revenue to meet and exceed incentive and growth targets
    • Deliver a consistent approach to procurement and delivery under the global procurement guidelines

 

What you will need:

  • Minimum five-years’ experience in a senior leadership and procurement role
  • Minimum five years’ experience in supplier relationships and contracting
  • Minimum two-years’ experience in Air category management
  • Business, Marketing or related degree or qualification
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as required
