The Product Design Manager is a member of the Design team which partners with Product and Engineering teams across the business create amazing products and experiences for our consumers and customers. The role of the Privacy Tribe is pivotal in developing and implementing a robust privacy framework, ensuring the maintenance of our high levels of user trust. With anticipated new Australian Privacy Laws on the horizon, this position offers a compelling opportunity to lead and define the future landscape of data protection at REA group and the real estate industry more broadly.

What the role is all about

Shape, develop and deliver on the strategy for your product area in close partnership with Product and Engineering, working in close partnership with your tribe leadership team

Lead the development of cohesive experience visions that chart the future direction for your product set, inspiring and align teams, while connecting this to our overarching experience vision for REA

Champion best practices and deeply understanding business opportunities, user needs, segmentation, competitive landscape, and technical constraints to deliver products to market that are a competitive advantage, driving user satisfaction and business growth

Shape and drive processes and practices, enabling greater impact and efficiency in how we work. Exemplify best practice ways of applying our Playbook and leverage our Federated Design frameworks

Create deep partnerships with people within and beyond your core team, influencing and collaborating with senior stakeholders and leaders to solve problems and meet common goals. Role model a 'REA-first' mindset

Lead design initiatives with varying complexity, aligning multiple stakeholders and optimising ways of working for efficiency, reuse and business impact

Collaborate with your peers members and stakeholders across the business, ensuring regular feedback and diversity of thought throughout the design process

Persuasively communicate user needs, design rationales, requirements and other information in a clear, concise way to meet the needs of the audience. Mentor others to develop their communication skills

Offer hands on design support where needed, jumping on the tools to help out with design velocity, illustrate strategy and to offer hands on practical coaching to your team

Who we’re looking for

Someone with a few runs on the board, experience designing products using industry standard tools and best practice processes

Experience leading teams and/or mentoring people

A good eye for design, comfortable providing design direction and feedback

Looks at tricky situations through a solutions-focused lens

Experience leading product direction & strategic thinking with the ability to develop product design goals, identify opportunities, & make decisions based on the impact

Strong communicator with proven ability to develop well-positioned and thoughtful insights & ideas with the team & wider stakeholder groups
