Job Description

Full time permanent role (37.5 hours per week) Based in Dandenong South

The ‘Groundwater Officer’ is responsible for the day to day sampling and field monitoring of groundwater, surface water and leachate with other field duties as directed.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Collect Ground Water samples from various client sites. Upon returning to the laboratory with samples, complete chain of custody with all the clients required analysis as per the sampling scheduler. Liaising with clients and inform Ground Water Team Leader of any changes/updates to continually service our clients. i.e. change of contact details, change of testing requirements, OHS documentation, providing Certificate of insurances etc.

This position involves working in a fast-paced environment and will be suitable for individuals who prides themselves in the level of accuracy in their work. In addition, this is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a collaborative and supportive team who are passionate about what they do.

Qualifications

Tertiary degree in Science or equivalent qualification; or significant laboratory experience.

In addition to the above, you will ideally possess the following:

Previous experience or knowledge of sampling and/or sample receipt roles A basic understanding of ‘Chain of Custody’ routine Proactive and friendly character A drive and commitment to learn, acquire and develop new skills Excellent attention to detail and time management skills Ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities Ability to work autonomously and within a team Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel
