About the role

As the Team Member Building Maintenance you will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading Council's assets.  This role will involve hands-on maintenance and upgrade works, liaising with service and maintenance contractors, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.  You will conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain our buildings to a high standard, ensuring minimal disruption to staff and members of the public.

Key responsibilities include

  • Performing general maintenance tasks on Council-owned assets, including carpentry, painting, minor concrete works, fencing, tiling, roofing and minor building maintenance. 
  • Undertaking inspections and audits to ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards.
  • Actioning maintenance requests effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining and replenishing consumables and equipment for CWT worker occupied buildings.  

Do you have? 

  • A relevant trade-related ticket or previous hands-on experience in the building and construction industry.
  • Hold a minimum Class MR driver's licence.
  • An ability to liaise effectively with contractors and possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivation along with a high level of initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • An ability to perform manual labour and can demonstrate a strong mechanical aptitude.
