Your Role

We are looking for a highly experienced and qualified individual to join our Legal team to support our Privacy & Data Protection Officer with compliance of data privacy regulations in Australia and New Zealand. You will assist in implementing the Privacy framework, processing Data Protection Impact Assessments, handling of low risk non reportable data privacy breaches and incidents, support the Privacy & Data Officer in liaising with regulators and assisting with staff training.

Professional with compliance or privacy background in the insurance or financial services industry and experience in privacy and data protection regulations (experience in financial services regulations is preferred).  Law degree qualified with a minimum 8+ years post qualification legal experience preferably in insurance and/or commercial law in either private legal practice or a corporate organisation (preferably an insurance company or other financial institution). Some litigation case management experience is preferable but not essential. CIPM, CIPP/E desirable Highly adept at managing competing priorities in a very busy and high-pressured environment. Excellent time management and organization skills.  Strong inter-personal skill and skills at communicating data privacy issues to internal clients in a firm but professional and authoritative manner. Demonstrates a strong technical proficiency in understanding how to operate systems and associated processes for conducting Personal Information Request reviews.
