Position: Welder / Fabricator and Boilermaker / Vehicle Body builder
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $73,500.00 to $78,000.00 plus superannuation per annum
Location: Albury NSW 2640
Our client that manufactures a variety of structural steel and stainless-steel projects including purpose-built vehicle bodies are requiring more tradespeople and are seeking an experienced full-time Welder / Fabricator.
Tasks required include:
- Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements.
- Selecting, cleaning, and preparing metal stock
- Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines.
- Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
- Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments.
- Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting
- Examining welds for width of bead, penetration, and precision
- Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, bathing in acidic solutions
- Cleaning and smoothing welds by chiselling and grinding.
Requirements:
- Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or Certificate IV in Engineering – Fabrication Trade
- The successful candidate will be highly experienced with at least 2 years’ experience.
- Able to do TIG / MIG work.
- Experience manufacturing structural steel fabrications.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Other trade licenses will be advantageous.
- Day and afternoon shifts are available.
- A liking for overtime would be advantageous.
- All applicants must have good communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment and be able to pass a drugs and alcohol screening.
