Our client is a known and respected Investment Bank and investment group. This well regarded and rated research team provide extensive research coverage across of ASX-listed companies in the Resources sector. The successful candidate will support the Head of Resources, covering the Bulks and Lithium names within this highly ranked team. On a daily basis you will help perform valuations that ultimately underpin stock recommendations through analysis, financial modelling and company/industry insights.

The successful candidate will help prepare presentations and marketing materials to various stakeholders including our client’s external fund manager clients and also to the internal Institutional Research sales and trading team. The candidate would be responsible for developing and maintaining financial models and valuation databases for stocks under primary coverage as well as support the writing of investment product, including company and sector reports. We would encourage those applicants currently working within equities research (either sell or buyside) within the sector to apply. Similarly, we encourage associates currently within other sectors with a passion for moving into resources to apply. Finally, those candidates with an industry background within mining with strong valuation and modelling skills are invited to apply. Candidates who have a combination of the following skillsets are encouraged to apply.

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in business (commerce/finance) and/or a technical mining related discipline (such as geology or engineering), preferably with a finance and/or accounting specialisation
  • 3-10 years’ experience as a research associate/analyst or alternatively a relevant industry discipline
  • CFA or MBA viewed favourably but not essential
  • Strong analytical, excel and financial modelling skills
  • Excellent interpersonal sensitivity, excellent communication, relationship, and management skills

This lead analyst has not come to market for a new associate in many years, therefore in our opinion, this is one of the most sought after roles currently available to up and coming aspiring equity research associates.
