Bioinformatics Consultant

Experience : 

Bachelor's or Master's degree in bioinformatics, computer science, data science, software engineering/development, chemistry, biology, or related field.  Experience in the development of scientific software and data science tools.  Strong skills in multidisciplinary (scientific and technical) communication.  Familiarity with software development/data science teams, contributing to project/product codebases.  Willingness to work in a multidisciplinary team environment. 

Competencies: 

Proficiency in Python development; familiarity with SQL, Elasticsearch, bash scripting, Linux CLI, and Dataweave is a plus.  Proficiency with code repositories and development management tools (e.g., GitHub, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps, Jira).  Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.  Familiarity with visualization and analysis tools such as Plotly/Python Dash, Shiny, PowerBI, Jupyter notebook, Domino Data Lab.  Willingness to develop business analysis skills, capability to gather and analyze user requirements, proposing innovative solutions.  Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects effectively and independently.  Self-starter, excellent teamwork, problem-solving and time management skills.  Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse scientific/technical backgrounds.  Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
