Senior Apparel Technician- Menswear

The Opportunity

As a Senior Apparel Technician- Menswear, you will establish and communicate standards relevant to fit, manufacturing and quality assurance of local and offshore product to achieve and support both the financial and branding objectives.

The role will see you providing technical support through the development process to the Design Team, Production, Supplier, Quality Assurance, Technical Team and Technical Manager.

With one direct report and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships, as the Senior Apparel Technical- Menswear you will:

  • Provide technical advice and support to the team around styling and fitting requirements.  
  • Create and maintain accurate technical packs in PLM system as required for all styles
  • Establish and maintain appropriate construction standards across all categories with all suppliers that aligns with Brands quality expectations. 
  • Ensure all fit comments and construction changes are accurately captured
  • Ensuring that products are produced in accordance with technical specifications, such as material requirements, dimensions, and tolerances. 
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues that arise during the product development process or after product launch 
  • Maintaining detailed records of product specifications, testing results, and quality control measures. 
  • Ensuring that products meet regulatory and safety requirements, such as product labelling and packaging. 
  • Ensure adherence to the critical path timeframes and consistent communication to Design team/Product Development in advance where variances may occur.  

**Please note this is a 12 month FTC**

We are looking for someone with high attention to detail, who is an exceptional communicator (both written and verbal), with a passion for quality, partnered with the below experience.

  • Significant experience in an Apparel Technical role
  • Previous experience in menswear would be highly regarded.
  • Understanding of garment grading and sizing. 
  • Understanding of patternmaking 
  • Sound understanding of garment construction and finishing techniques that are suitable for end use.
  • Proven understanding of local and offshore manufacturing and retail business acumen
  • Ability to build strong supplier relationships and achieve high quality and product results
