Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Clinical Nurse. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mental health and AOD (Alcohol and Other Drugs) case management, as well as experience working with children and adolescents. This role requires a blend of clinical skills, database proficiency, and a thorough understanding of relevant legislation.
About the role:
We have multiple contracts available across Hospital & Health services in QLD ranging from 4-12 weeks with potential to extended. Duties for this contract include:
- Manage mental health and AOD (Alcohol and Other Drugs) cases, providing comprehensive patient care and support.
- Complete Electrocardiograms (ECGs) accurately and interpret results as needed.
- Utilize CIMHA (Consumer Integrated Mental Health Application) and ATODS-IS (Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs - Information System) databases for effective case management.
- Operate and navigate the ieMR (integrated electronic Medical Record) system proficiently.
- Provide care in accordance with the Mental Health Act 2016 and stay updated with relevant legislation.
- Deliver care tailored to the needs of children and adolescents, addressing their specific mental health and AOD requirements.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement individualized care plans.
Key Requirements:
- AHPRA Registration (must be current)
- National Police Check
- Immunisation History
- Experience in mental health and AOD case management.
- Competency in performing ECGs.
- Knowledge of CIMHA, ATODS-IS, and ieMR systems.
- Understanding of the Mental Health Act 2016.
- Experience working with children and adolescents.
- BLS competency
- Manual and patient handling
- Infection control
- Aggressive behavior management
- Mandatory reporting by Registered Nurses, and/or Midwifes for reasonable suspicions of child abuse and neglect
- Medications management including QPHS (Drugs and Poisons) Regulations November 2012
Additionally, the candidate must agree to undertake any of the following as required by the HHS:
- Integrated electronic medical record training
- Online induction training
- Any other training as requested
