About the Role
Mater Private Hospital Mackay is seeking a highly experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead the High Dependency Ward team. As the successful candidate, you will provide operational and clinical management, leadership, and professional line management to the nursing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational and clinical management and leadership to the HDU in partnership with nursing, medical, allied health, and administrative teams
- Identify and implement opportunities for clinical service development and improvement in collaboration with the Patient Care Manager and General Manager
- Achieve optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care across Mater Health
- Maintain current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth
- Develop, improve, and monitor systems and processes to ensure service is managed effectively and efficiently
- Professional line management of the nursing team
- Lead by example to provide high-level clinical care for patients
- Utilize expert-level communication strategies to guide the team in achieving the unit's goals
About You
You will have 5 years of post-graduate specialty nursing experience, preferably in the unit's specialties. You will also have current AHPRA nursing registration with no restrictions, a solid understanding of private healthcare, and proven use of exceptional communication skills to motivate and lead a team to achieve goals.
