Role description:
Due to the career progression of our current Drainage & Flooding Discipline Manager, combined with growth in our team and the demands of our strong and growing pipeline of work across various civil infrastructure projects we are searching for a Discipline Manager to lead our large drainage and flooding team to successfully deliver major Highways, Airports, Ports, Rail and Metro infrastructure projects.
Role accountabilities:
- Line management of our large, established and mature drainage and flooding team to provide optimal drainage design and flooding analysis for major infrastructure projects
- Provide strategic leadership for the team including team development
- Oversee improvement and development of capabilities in sustainability, digital delivery and automation
- Bring a passion to leadership and development of a high performing team, with a focus on clients and delivery
- Provide technical leadership in hydraulic and hydrology analysis
- Provide technical design expertise for drainage and water quality systems, including piped networks and major transverse drainage structures
- Coordinate and verify designs with project teams working across multiple offices including our international design hubs
- Working in collaboration with the design manager and other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design
Deliver sustainable design solutions and drive continuous improvement in the sustainability of our solutions
Qualifications & Experience:
First and foremost, you share our passion for improving the quality of life. You pride yourself for the part you play in transforming the world around you and understand the importance of teamwork. You are a technically capable civil or environmental engineer with extensive experience in drainage design for civil infrastructure projects. You will come to us with:
- Proven leadership and management skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Extensive experience in consulting engineering with established relationship networks
- Experience in several facets of the project lifecycle from concept design through to detailed design and construction
- Experience leading the hydraulic and hydrology analysis on projects with Transport for NSW or similar interstate authorities like TMR and VicRoads
- Proven skills with relevant software such as TUflow, 12D and DRAINS
- The desire to work collaboratively in a high performing team environment
- Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications and relevant skills.
- Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines (TfNSW/Austroads standards).
