Why this role matters:

The Project Officer will offer essential project management and support for the Radiation Oncology and Ingham Institute Medical Physics groups, focusing on the AusCAT project and the Australian Cancer Data Network Collaborators. These projects work with large retrospective clinical data sets, particularly imaging data, using federated learning methods to answer clinical and research questions. The project involves over 10 radiotherapy treatment centres including national and international partners.

Based at the Ingham Institute in Liverpool, the role involves coordinating projects, reporting, analytical tasks, developing communications, and building relationships. We are particularly interested in hearing from people

The Project Officer will report to the South-Western Sydney Clinical Campus Manager and will not have any direct reports.

Skills Required:

Relevant tertiary qualification in health or health science field with clinical or research experience, ideally in Radiation Oncology setting. Demonstrated ability to support project coordination and management. Sound stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands. Project experience, with an understanding of the project life cycle and development of project plans, objectives and documentation. Experienced in writing applications and reports for human ethics committees, and GMOs. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and researchers. Demonstrated ability to support research and analysis, including literature searches, data analysis (qualitative and quantitative) and summarising findings via reports and presentations. Strong computer proficiency, including data analysis, Excel, Outlook and referencing software. Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines. Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
