About the OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technical Services Officer to join our Central Functions line of business based at Richmond - VIC reporting to the Technical Services Lead.

We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working hybrid working.

You will be responsible for providing an Elevated Level Technical Support to users and on the corporate computing environment and ensure the day to day functioning of Information technology and communications equipment and services at responsible sites.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide on-site, face to face and remote Technical Support of the corporate information technology environment.
  • Provide timely response to incidents and service requests working to the call logging system
  • Create a positive user experience by updating and managing expectations
  • Assist in the management of the End User Hardware fleet from acquisition to disposal
  • Support of MS Teams meeting room technologies including and associated room hardware
  • Demonstrate proactive leadership in Safety Health and Environment
  • Liaise with third party contractors and vendors (Dell, Canon etc.)
  • Be aware of and adhere to network security/reporting breaches
  • Possibility of some "out of hours" work where required
  • Act as a Technical Services POC for other teams in IM & T and collaborate with other teams to improve services and processes
  • Be the Technical Services POC for the triaging of calls at your site (ensuring the right call attributes are set)
  • Act as delegate to the Lead, providing day to day supervision and stand in for the TS TL when required
  • Act as an escalation point for your site on behalf of Technical Services
  • Act as escalation point for Technical Support Officers
  • Act as a liaison point between IM&T and the Business were required
  • Lead by example for call handling and content working within SLA's
  • Assist with coaching and mentoring of new staff into the team
  • Work autonomously with "little" to "no" supervision
  • Be an advocate for improving the way we work within Technical Services

About YOU

  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain a Negative Vetting 1 clearance
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
  • Experience in a similar role, with leadership experience and ability to manage and delegate responsibility
  • Demonstrated experience (of at least 5+ years) in a Level 2 or 3 IT Administrator/ Support role, preferably in a large corporate networked environment
  • Proven ability to problem solve and troubleshoot with a focus on achieving objectives and ensuring effective outcomes
  • Proven ability to support both hardware (laptop/ desktop, mobility and video conferencing) and software (MS operating systems and business applications) in a diverse corporate environment
