Salisbury, Australia Lives Lived Well Full time

The Northern Adelaide Children and Family Mental Health Service operates from our new Salisbury hub, providing mental health and wellbeing supports to families and their children (aged 11 and under), including perinatal services.

We offer a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment and provide support to all families including First Nations People, CALD and LGBTIQ+ communities. We are looking for a Mental Health Clinician to join our team. This role is a full-time maternity leave replacement contract until 12 September 2025.

The salary for this role is ranges between $49.28 - $51.51 per hour, depending on the successful applicant’s skills, knowledge and experience. You will also be eligible for salary packaging benefits to increase your take-home pay.

Your Opportunity

You will have prior experience working in the Human Services field and will be looking for a challenging and interesting role, supporting families and children with severe and complex mental health concerns. Your skills and attributes will include:

  • Experience working with parents and children of culturally diverse groups, including First Nations, CALD and LGBTIQ+ communities.
  • Understanding of grief and loss and ability to counsel individually and group sessions.
  • Local community knowledge including support services and programs.
  • Experience working with an evidence-based framework and a commitment to data-driven decisions.
  • A background in using Art Therapy and Play Therapy to support emotional regulation and resilience-building in children.
  • Being a team player – we are a small, supportive team and we all pitch it to get the job done.
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal – you’ll be working with families and young children so the ability to relate is essential.
  • Ability to self-care and self-regulate during times of stress and high pressure.
  • Knowledge of DBT and training in “Incredible Years” and/or “Circle of Security” would be beneficial.

You will need to hold a suitable bachelor’s degree, or a Diploma with several years’ practical experience relevant to the role. There is some outreach work in this role, so you will also need a current Australian Drivers Licence. And because you’ll be working with children, a current Working with Children Check is required.
