ING, Australia’s most recommended bank for the 5th year running is looking for an experienced Senior Tax Consultant who is a guru when it comes to the Bank’s taxation function. We’re looking for someone who loves Tax, who is experienced in various taxes and, who wants to get that exposure in working for a reputable bank.

You’ll be fundamental to the success of our business, from providing sage and practical taxation advice to various business units including practical implementation and key risk controls to preparation of tax papers to various Board delegated Committees and draft responses to Request for Information from Tax Authorities. 

You’ll be responsible for the compliance and tax reporting obligations of ING in Australia, this includes the preparation and/or review of tax calculations, reporting and payment of all taxation liabilities to tax and revenue authorities.


What you’ll do

Provision of tax advice to various business units and be the first point of contact for designated/allocated business units including identify tax saving opportunities, assess tax impact and highlight tax risks; Attend to ATO Request for Information, review and audits; Review / Preparation of various returns and lodgement with tax and revenue authorities including the required analytics; Review Contracts and Agreements for various business units; Preparation of regular tax updates and Committee tax papers and attendance at the Committee as required; Review/prepare tax compliance obligations including income tax returns, FBT, Activity Statements, PAYG instalments and withholding tax, payroll tax returns, quarterly tax provisions including provide response to external auditor’s queries, AIIR and monitoring and remittance of withholding tax; Provide assistance in various aspects of Tax Risk Governance including maintenance of policies and procedures, design and conduct key control testing and SOX testing; Assist in Ad Hoc projects and requests (local, head office, Tax and Revenue Authorities or Regulators); supporting tax reviews and audits; providing tax support to various business units and projects

What we’re looking for?

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills Ability to research, interpret and apply legislations, case laws and ATO rulings to current issues/queries 8+ years of tax experience in professional firms or commerce Advanced understanding of accounting or tax discipline or related analytical role Excellent analytical skills and attention to details Effective and excellent oral and written communication skills Strong commitment to meet deadlines with accurate and high quality output
