Role Overview
This is a senior commercial finance role supporting the CFO in an environment of growth and change. As the FP&A / Business Analytics Manager, you will report directly to the CFO and develop the budgeting, forecasting and management reporting for this national Australian health services business. The role will have a strong level of ownership and accountability in it for all tasks FP&A and will deliver the board reporting on a monthly basis. On a daily basis, you will work closely with the CFO on strategic initiatives as well as partnering with the state and area managers and Business Development team delivering insights and customer modelling to support key decisions. The role has been created with the recognition of the importance of business analytics and insights in making decisions and using data to support and enhance the business strategy.
The FP&A/ Analytics Manager will be the central point for all planning and analysis activities that are Finance led enabling driving conversations to a forward based view and ensuring consistent assumptions across the business, supporting decisions, stress testing them and focusing the managers on drivers of performance. This role is an outstanding opportunity for a hands on and strong business partner seeking a role with end to end accountability for both FP&A and board reporting. Some travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage and own the annual budgeting process ensuring a robust outcome
  • Further develop driver-based planning as the foundation for the annual budget process and periodic forecasting process
  • Develop 3-Way Forecasting models and rolling forecasts
  • Deliver timely and accurate board reporting and management packs.
  • Predicting the future business performance through transparent robust forecasts, and performing analysis, be it recurring models or ad hoc analysis to enable better decision making for long term performance
  • Support the preparation of monthly analysis of the Group’s results and variance commentary vs budget or forecast that provides meaningful insight into business performance
  • Understand and support the key stakeholders, deliverables and reporting requirements for each business unit
  • Business case analysis for new projects or initiatives
  • Expenditure and capital investment decision support
  • Prepare reports benchmarking to industry and competitors
  • Prepare information and analysis required for the SLT including post-implementation reviews and other financial analysis required from time to time

Candidate Profile
You are CPA/CA qualified and have extensive management reporting experience ideally within a medium sized services based business. You have extensive budgeting and forecasting experience and notable achievements around driving process improvements and business partnering with sales, operations and the ELT. You have excellent analytical and problem solving skills and are a strong driver for positive change. Your personality is energetic and strong and you have robust influencing skills. Technically, you feel comfortable challenging business models and have strong Excel skills. Exposure to Power BI and or TM1 planning analytics is highly regarded.
