You will provide leadership in built environment education, research and practice, with established connections to Australian government funding priorities, professional bodies and industry. Lead people and teams in innovative solutions and practices to envisioning, designing, and building a sustainable built environment with expertise in one or more of the following areas,
Sustainable design management and construction practice, Design thinking in design and project management, Circular built environment Sustainable building performance, Environmental impact modelling and assessment, Energy efficiency in buildings and life cycle assessment (LCA), Sustainable resource use, sustainable materials, and renewable energy technologiesThe School of Architecture and Built Environment has ambitious plans to play a leading role in promoting the Circular Economy applied to the Built Environment and Cities. With a strong emphasis on sustainable resource use, space/energy and material efficiencies, and innovative design and construction practices, the School aims to contribute significantly to the transition toward a circular economy design model. This vision aligns with global efforts to create more sustainable, resilient, and environmentally conscious built environments.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Integrating industry, clinical and/or research practices to inform unit / course design across discipline in peer institutions or nationally Leading teaching teams to develop courses and materials which influence teaching for the discipline in peer institutions or nationally, or across multiple disciplines Developing new innovation in curriculum design which is adopted in peer institutions or nationally Leading large scale, highly productive, high-quality research, scholarship and creative activities generating high impact outputs Developing and leading major academic or other collaborations that enable novel research or creative activities recognised internationallyKey selection criteria for this role:
PhD in a relevant discipline Evidence of original, innovative and distinguished contribution to scholarship and teaching, research and research supervision Demonstrated success as an eminent authority at the national and international level in research and scholarship through high quality publications and exhibitions, as appropriate to the discipline Sustained success in obtaining competitive external research grants Excellence in engagement with research, community, industry and government to enhance the national and international standing of the discipline Evidence of successful leadership of teaching, research and/or administration Demonstrated ability to lead improvement of academic standards, including implementing best practice teaching strategies and dissemination of innovative practices; Extensive experience in attracting and supervising higher degree by research (HDR) candidates to maximise research performance-
