Job Summary: We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Clinical Nurse specializing in Alcohol & Other Drugs (AODS) to join our mental health team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assessment, treatment, and support for individuals dealing with substance use issues, within a supportive and collaborative environment.
About the role:
We have multiple contracts available across Hospital & Health services in QLD ranging from 4-12 weeks with potential to extended. Duties for this contract include:
- Conduct assessments and provide treatment for individuals with alcohol and other drug issues.
- Deliver counseling and support to patients, utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Utilize the CHIMA database and ieMR system for patient management, documentation, and record-keeping.
- Ensure compliance with the Mental Health Act 2016 and relevant legal and ethical standards.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families about mental health and substance use disorders.
- Participate in case reviews, clinical meetings, and ongoing professional development.
Key Requirements:
- Experience in AODS assessment and treatment.
- Proven experience in counseling and assessment.
- Background in mental health services.
- Knowledge and experience with the CHIMA database.
- Proficiency in using the ieMR (Integrated electronic Medical Record) system.
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2016.
- AHPRA registration (must be current)
- Australian working rights
- Updated Australian Immunisation History
- National Police Check
- BLS competency
- Manual and patient handling
- Infection control
- Aggressive behavior management
Additionally, the candidate must agree to undertake any of the following as required by the HHS:
- Integrated electronic medical record training
- Online induction training
- Any other training as requested
