Group Health Manager 

A rare opportunity has arisen for a Group Health Manager to join the corporate team at UGL. The Group Health Manager plays a pivotal role in managing UGL's group health team and framework. This includes overseeing workers' compensation and injury management, personal injury legal claims, fitness for duty medicals, psychosocial risk management, health and wellbeing initiatives, and establishing a central framework for occupational health and hygiene. The role can be based in any of our capital city offices.

The opportunity

  • Provide leadership and vision and drive initiatives at a company-wide level, influencing policies and practices to enhance employee wellbeing.
  • Collaborate to develop a business wide psychosocial risk management strategy.
  • Support the implementation of UGL’s occupational hygiene risk management and monitoring framework with a focus on data, reporting and analysis.
  • Develop and implement health strategies at a company-wide level, influencing policies and practices to enhance employee wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with senior management, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and promote best practices in health management.
  • Lead organisational change to achieve health objectives and strategy, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

About the role

  • Continue to reduce the impact of workplace injuries by further improving the injury management strategy and workers compensation insurance policy renewal negotiation.
  • Develop and implement UGL wide Health related policy, processes and procedures.
  • Lead the management of the fitness for work assessment process.
  • Provide written and oral reports to senior managers, external stakeholders and manage annual Self Insurance regulatory reviews and requirements.
  • Oversee the development of the occupational health function and wellbeing programs with a focus on mental health.

About you

  • Extensive, similar experience in health management for a large organisation.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of legislation and regulations.
  • Strategic planning expertise. 
  • Ability to travel interstate monthly.
