We are actively in search of an experienced, potentially retired Commercial Transport Technician who is looking for an extremely flexible job as a Tool Cataloging Coordinator to fill their time. The primary responsibility of this role is to catalogue our workshop tools into an existing tool program. We are seeking an individual with preferably but not necessarily a background in Commercial Transport, ensuring they possess knowledge in the workshop field.
 
The ideal candidate should have a solid foundation in general mechanics and be comfortable working with computers for data entry purposes. This role requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate cataloging of our tools.
 
This is a newly created project role where flexibility is a key component, and we are open to negotiating a schedule that suits your availability. The individual must be willing to travel occasionally and be away from the primary location in order to cover all our branches. This travel is essential for maintaining uniformity in tool organisation across our various workshops.  It is expected that this project will take 6 months or more depending on hours worked each week.

Key Responsibilities

  • To ensure all workshop tools and their locations are loaded onto the My Tool Box programme for each branch
  • To ensure the locations are correct and correspond with the tool map
  • To identify each tool in the workshop and add descriptions and pictures into the My Tool Box programme
  • To take photos of every tool and load it onto the My Tool Box Ap
  • To identify any tools not listed on the tool map, create a part number for the tool and add the tool to the map
  • To add any missing tools to My Tool Box programme once a part number has been allocated
  • To identify any missing tools and notify the Branch Service Manager so that the tool can be replaced
  • To travel to each branch to conduct the cataloguing of tools

  • Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (desirable)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Able to work autonomously
  • Able to multitask
