The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Manufacturing Environment team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as a Senior Environment Advisor. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

In this essential role, you will work with key internal and external stakeholders to protect and further the standing of Manufacturing with regards to environmental governance and environmental improvement initiatives/ programmes. With your technical leadership, you will provide regular environmental governance performance feedback to line operations.

This role works Monday to Friday with the opportunity for flexible work arrangements. When you join our team, we also offer access to our Employee Assistance provider and other health and well-being programs.

What Will You Do?

As a trusted Senior advisor in our Manufacturing team, you will use your experience and champion our safety culture. You will also:

  • assist to deliver high quality technical environment services, statutory and improvement advice to line operations and internal and external stakeholders
  • provide appropriate project support advice to the line operations
  • support systems and reporting requirements to achieve internal and regulatory deadlines
  • maintains productive relationships with key external stakeholders, particularly the EPA’s, Planning Authorities, Ports Corp, Local Council and the Community

More About You

As an experienced Environmental Advisor, and your ability to engage, influence and communicate meaningfully with our people, you will bring:

  • tertiary qualifications in either environmental science, environmental engineering or an appropriate science related discipline
  • previous experience in a similar role and industry
  • influencing skills and the ability to drive change and process improvement
  • a high level of attention to detail
  • a proactive approach in building constructive and effective relationships
