Established in June 2010 by Professor Paul Glasziou, the IEBH delivers world-class research, engagement, and training that serves as a national and international resource for scholars, clinicians, system leaders, patients, and families in the implementation of evidence-based clinical care. collaborative research with a focus on translation of evidence into practice and policy.
This exciting opportunity will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the EASSI-PC clinical trial and provide high-level administrative support and work collaboratively with academics from different Australian Universities, general practice managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth implementation and conduct of the national randomised controlled trial conducted at several general practices in four states (Queensland, Victoria, New South Wales, and South Australia). This position is funded as part of a MRFF grant entitled “Evidence-based Antimicrobial Stewardship: Sustainable Implementation in Primary Care: EASSI-PC”.
Additional responsibilities include:
Contribute to research projects at the IEBH. Provide support for mentoring and training of junior staff and higher degree students Assist with training in evidence synthesis and research methods, for example via workshops, or helping with relevant, Masters subjects.
About the person
The ideal candidate will demonstrate established skills in research and publication, and an ability to manage and assist with research projects and help in mentoring and developing junior research staff and students. They will have well-developed planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and set and meet deadlines.
In addition, candidates will demonstrate:
An appropriate health degree (such as life sciences, health, nursing, or related field) and relevant demonstrated experience in Clinical Trial Coordination or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or training in research management Proven track record in conducting clinical research or other applicable clinical or academic background, including experience in adherence to ethical standards, active participation in clinical trial team meetings, recruitment and study management. Excellent organisational and communication skills, including the demonstrated ability to build rapport with clinicians and motivate them to participate fully in the trial. Proven track record of effectively collecting, collating, and analysing information in accordance with defined protocols and standards. Proficient computer skills demonstrated by competent use of data management software (including databases, clinical trial electronic data entry) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Salary details
The salary for the position commences at $93,764.68 plus 11.5% superannuation per annum. Salary packaging options are available for eligible employees.
