The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Fellow (Echocardiography) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide appropriate evidenced based clinical care in the specialty of cardiology and echocardiography for both inpatients and outpatients
- Provide support for rapid cardiology clinic
- Perform and report transoesophageal echocardiogram under supervision
- Perform and report transthoracic echocardiogram under supervision
- Supervise the day to day running of the stress echocardiogram service and report stress echocardiogram (Exercise and Dobutamine under supervision)

About you

**To be successful in this position you will require**:

- AHPRA Registration
- Eligibility for registration in Australia as a specialist in Cardiology
- Competency and recognised training in Cardiology and Cardiac catheterisation including successful completion of an Advanced training in Cardiology at a recognised centre
- Familiarity in acute coronary intervention and participation in an established primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) program
- Training and experience in cardiac catheterisation as per Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSANZ) guidelines
- Completion of the IELTS examination and achieving a minimum score of 7 in each of the four components (for overseas applicants)
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary full time (up to 12 months, with possibility of extension)
- Base salary ranging from $160 444 - $176 802 per annum

The Cardiac Services at the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service includes a 20 bed cardiology ward, 6 bed Cardiac Care Unit and 3 Cardiac Catheter Suites with one being an Electrophysiology Laboratory and the other 2 being Coronary and Structural Laboratories.
