Job Description:

Royal Canin is passionate about Pets and their ongoing care and nutritional intake, and we are searching for our next Key Account Manager to reflect the same passion to our Key Accounts within the Pet Specialty Retail channel.

Reporting to the PSR Key Account Lead you will be responsible for managing the relationships with growing corporate partners. Dealing primarily with the corporate head office and support teams that oversee marketing, promotions, merchandising, inventory management and operational activities.

You will be a strong negotiator, enjoy collaborating and have the ability to develop relationships, as well as the development, creation and implementation of marketing programs and materials which will lead to retail promotions, for the trial and purchase of Royal Canin products.

Please note: this is currently a 12-month contract

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Own the development and implementation of strategic plans for key accounts through regular face to face communication
  • Hold responsibility for the budgeted tonnage and NSV of the retail and veterinary portfolios in these key accounts and monitor the financial performance and revenue profit targets with the aid of full financial data
  • Collaborate with the Customer Marketing Manager and Category Insights on the planning, development and execution of the National retail marketing calendar
  • Develop and implement promotional and marketing calendars with key accounts to increase education, recommendation and sales to gain new consumers for Royal Canin retail products
  • Under guidance of the Key Account Lead, develop negotiate and track trading terms as part of annual strategic planning
  • Collaborate with the Retail and Vet field sales teams to ensure that new or acquired stores are contacted and set-up in a timely manner, securing compliance to the agreed product range, placement, display and the completion of Retail, Vet and Customer Service staff education.
  • Assist in conducting analysis and periodic reviews of the brand, competitive, category, customer and consumer trends to enhance the brand's equity and marketplace performance
  • Own the trade spend budget for key account customers, develop the promotional program to enable delivery of the financial targets. Responsibility for account claims and promotional accruals.
