Survey Technician

Grange Resources Tasmania is on the lookout for a Survey Technician to join our operation in Savage River.

This is an opportunity to build your Surveying career working on a mine site under the guidance of experienced professionals.

As a Survey Technician, you will gain experience in a range of surveying techniques and technologies.

This is a permanent position working on a 8 days on 6 days off roster.

Day to day

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Use survey equipment (GPS, Drones, and Laser Scanners) to gather critical data to support the mining operations.
• Play a key role in assisting mining personnel with the mine design, providing efficient delivery of mine plans by setting out Drill and Blast Pattern Design and Design Operational Control.
• Undertake best practice maintenance of the survey database.
• Utilise CAD software for volumetric reporting and data management.

Who you are

To be successful in this role you have:

• We encourage applications from candidates who are pursuing Surveying qualifications or with mine site experience looking to pursue a career in Surveying.
• Hold a current full manual driver’s licence.
• You will display a strong commitment to working safely.
• Proficient computer literacy skills.
• Demonstrated numerical accuracy and analytical skills.

We're Grange Resources, Australia's oldest and most experienced magnetite producer - combining both mining and pellet production expertise. Based in northwest Tasmania, we own and operate Australia's largest integrated iron ore mining and pellet production business.

Grange holds long term supply contracts for one million tonnes of its annual production and offers the balance of its production to market via a spot sales tendering/contracting process.

Savage River

The Savage River magnetite iron ore mine is a long-life mining asset where ore is mined and processed before it is transported by pipeline to Grange's pellet plant and ship loading facility at Port Latta.

The Savage River worksite is only an hour and half drive away from the vibrant coastal towns of north-west Tasmania, which offers a fantastic regional lifestyle and is only an hour’s flight from Melbourne with regular services from airports at Burnie, Devonport and Launceston.
