Grange Resources Tasmania is seeking a skilled Surveying Operations Technician to enhance our operations.

This role presents a unique opportunity to advance your career in surveying within a mining environment, guided by seasoned professionals.

As a Surveying Operations Technician, you will acquire expertise in various surveying methodologies and technologies.

This is a permanent position with a roster of 8 days on and 6 days off.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, your duties will include:

  • Utilizing advanced survey instruments (GPS, Drones, and Laser Scanners) to collect essential data that supports mining activities.
  • Assisting mining teams with mine design by efficiently delivering mine plans, including the setup of Drill and Blast Pattern Design and Operational Control.
  • Maintaining the survey database according to best practices.
  • Employing CAD software for volumetric reporting and data management.

Candidate Profile

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A pursuit of Surveying qualifications or relevant mine site experience aiming for a career in Surveying.
  • A valid full manual driver's license.
  • A strong commitment to safety in the workplace.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Demonstrated numerical accuracy and analytical capabilities.

We are Grange Resources, recognized as Australia's oldest and most experienced magnetite producer, integrating both mining and pellet production expertise. Our operations are based in northwest Tasmania, where we manage Australia's largest integrated iron ore mining and pellet production enterprise.

Grange has secured long-term supply contracts for one million tonnes of its annual output, with the remainder offered to the market through a spot sales tendering process.

Work Environment

The Savage River magnetite iron ore mine represents a long-term mining asset where ore is extracted and processed before being transported to Grange's pellet plant.
