The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our BlueScope Distribution business in our Bibra Lake team as a Customer Service Officer. BlueScope Distribution is a single-source provider of steel and aluminium product, processing and service solutions. The business supports customers in a variety of industries and works with them to help deliver projects on time and to specification. BlueScope Distribution supports its customers by helping them find the freedom to do what they do best.

In this diverse role, you will support our team by managing enquiries that come from walk in customers and via phone and email. Our customers are a mix of homeowners and builders requiring a variety of superior products and solutions that we offer. Being the face of BlueScope, you will ensure all of our customers receive exceptional service.

What Will You Do?

Being the face of BlueScope for our customers, you will:

  • interact with our customers over the phone, email and in person managing quotes and queries
  • follow-up on quotations and inquiries converting these into sales opportunities
  • collaborate with internal stakeholders including marketing, warehouse and sales departments to ensure customer expectations and requirements are me
  • nurture and grow relationships with customers to uncover new business and sales opportunities
  • resolving issues and seeking ways to improve the customer’s experience

You will have a positive attitude combined with an eagerness to learn and provide exceptional customer experience. In addition, it would be advantageous to have the following experience and attributes:

  • excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills 
  • strong customer focus with the ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently 
  • the ability to pick up new and custom IT systems quickly
  • a proactive approach in building constructive and effective relationships 
  • high attention to detail and ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously 
  • a commitment to your own safety and well-being while caring for others
