About the Role:

The overall purpose of the role is to make significant contributions to the teaching effort in the Speech Pathology discipline and to contribute to the College through academic relevant administrative and research activities. A teaching and research academic at this level is also expected to play a role in scholarship, research and/or professional activities.

The position of Lecturer will design and teach units, including online and preparatory material as well as convene units of study. The successful applicant will be required to teach into the undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the University, supervise Honours and higher degree students and have supervisory responsibilities for some staffing.

This is a full-time position (Teaching and Research) at Academic Level B $105,662 (per annum) – $125,473 (per annum) plus 17% superannuation, working 36.75 (1 FTE) hours per week.

Duties:

An example of duties you may perform will include:

Work with Speech Pathology and relevant other staff to develop high quality materials to teach and convene units in the postgraduate and undergraduate Speech Pathology discipline; Participate in administrative duties and academic leadership such as course or unit Convener, attend discipline and college meetings and/or membership of a number of committees. Independently prepare and deliver curriculum content, including unit coordination, marking, assessment and consultation with students. Independently and in collaboration with other relevant staff, conduct and disseminate research in areas of expertise in accordance with the expectations for the level of appointment. Support the professional practicum program and enhance industry partnerships.

Preference will be given to applicants possessing proficiency in voice and stuttering or audiology. Individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD), Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islanders and/or all abilities are encouraged to apply.
