The Manager, Complex Major Projects Team is a new position in the Major Projects Branch of the Victorian School Building Authority reporting to the Complex Major Projects Senior Manager.

The role is responsible for management of capital works projects, new schools and upgrades and refurbishments, that are complex in nature either at the inception of the project or during the contract administration phase. This may include projects involving:

  • Contention between parties
  • Significant defects
  • Insolvency
  • Innovative procurement methodologies
  • Complex structuring or staging.

The successful candidate:

* will work closely with the Complex Major Projects Senior Manager as well as manage their own projects and team be expected to assist to resource other project officers and Managers to provide support on existing projects that become complex; and
* is expected to be self-sufficient and work autonomously, have strong communication, negotiation and contract management skills.

The role will work closely with and report to the 'Senior Manager - Complex Major Projects' but will also work closely with the Major Projects Branch Directors and the Executive Director of Major Projects and Property Division.
