Our NSW Government client is hiring for a highly capable Project Manager to join their organisation. This role is suited to a Junior IT Project Manager who has a minimum of two years Project Management experience and is able to work in a product development team and has experience with the Full Atlassian Suite (especially JIRA). The wider project incorporates existing legacy platform tools will be moved into a new Salesforce environment, as part of a wider push to implement new initiatives across NSW. In this role you will be working closely with Architects, UX Designers, Developers, Technical BA’s, SME’s and Testers.

Role Title: Project Manager

Contract Length: 12 month initial contract

Daily Pay:$650 + Super per day, 7 hour day.

Location: Parramatta (2150), one day a week in office/WFH Hybrid

Role Requirements:

  • Streamlining planning and project management of every day tasks, utilising Atlassian to the best of its capabilities (help simplify the number of platforms currently used).
  • Managing the operations planning (and change management) for both major and minor releases.
  • Collaborating with the Business Analysts to track the progress of each Agile scrum team (currently two), highlighting risks, and planning the pipeline of future work (in consultation with the Design Manager and Technical lead).
  • Monitor and control activities by identifying the potential risks and issues in the project and escalating to proper channels.
  • Planning releases, managing the structure of epics and sprints.
  • Assisting with roadmap planning and cross-functional consultation and communications.
  • Assisting with the development of product prioritisation process.
  • Raising scope/timeframe and budget concerns and facilitating ways to mitigate them so that priority goals of the roadmap and funding commitments can be met.
  • Collaborating with the Design Manager and Technical Lead to continue refining the way the scrum teams work together.
  • Procurement and contract management.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years project management experience.
  • Experience working with the Atlassian Suite, especially Jira.
  • Experience working in an Agile product development team with understanding of user stories, epics and releases.
  • Comfortable working in a highly collaborative way.
  • You have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. This is because much of the role is collaborating with others and making things clear for them quickly. You’ll need to build and maintain great relationships with key stakeholders.
  • A detailed thinker, who asks a lot of questions, and are willing to get into technical details. This is because you will need to understand the rules that exist within our system and ratings standards.

Advantageous Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience of IT projects within a complex system and cloud-based solutions
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions.
