About the team

Corporate Servicesteams at Metro are responsible for providing essential support services that enable the business to function efficiently and effectively. From Safety and People, Marketing and Communication, to Finance and Legal, and IT. Our Corporate Services teams work collaboratively to ensure that the business operates smoothly and as one team. 

About the role

The Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst (8-month Maximum Term Contract) provides critical support and expertise to allow the business to operate effectively. In this role you will ensure integrity between Metro Train Melbourne’s (MTM’s) financial reports provided to shareholders and the Department of Transport (DTP).

Key responsibilities of the Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst include (but not limited to):

Preparation and submission of MTM’s monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting, shareholder reporting and Board reporting Assisting in the preparation of consolidated budgets and forecasts as required Preparing accurate monthly profit share and statistical reporting in a timely manner as requested by government bodies and approved institutions Assisting with the investigation of financial information, audit processes and, ad hoc reporting and analytics as required

About you

You will be a qualified accountant with extensive relevant experience in a FP&A or Management Reporting role for a large, complex organisation.

Other requirements include:

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Experience in the preparation and collation of financial information Strong interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills, combined with high attention to detail Ability to juggle competing demands and work to tight deadlines Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate complex business issues to Executives Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Accounting
