About the role

Orica runs a global network of facilities for manufacturing initiating systems and distributes various products worldwide. Supporting Electronic Blasting Systems (EBS) involves a complex network of manufacturing, supply, and technology resources to meet current demand, enhance efficiency, and reduce unit costs in different regions. 

Achieving EBS growth, efficiency, and cost savings requires coordination among functional and regional teams and category management to uphold the One Orica vision. In line with this, we are pleased to announce that we are seeking a Program Manager for EBS Network Optimisation, to be based in any of our global offices or Manufacturing Centres, with a hybrid working setup. 

In this role, you will be responsible for developing investment strategies and meeting timeline, commercial, marketing, and business goals. This position aims to reduce network costs and ensure sufficient capacity and competency to support the projected growth of EBS.
 

What you will be doing

As a Program Manager for EBS Network Optimisation, you will set and lead the EBS network planning strategy to deliver a secure and sustainable global supply network that meets both customer and business needs. This includes the following:

  • Developing business cases to support new or evolving EBS program initiatives.
  • Drive new investment decisions. 
  • Identify cost efficiency improvements by optimising global manufacturing assets and external supply sources.

This role is expected to build, influence, and maintain relationships with a diverse array of stakeholders - including those in supply chain, manufacturing, technology, marketing, and commercial sectors - each with competing demands or interests. 

Key Commercial Ownership:

  • Developing and executing short, medium, and long-term strategic business plans, achieving all SHES, timeline, commercial, and market targets.
  • Demonstrating strong business acumen across multiple disciplines and prioritize Orica’s interests in decision-making. 
  • Seizing business opportunities, understand the implications of decisions on competitive positioning, and calculating risks to achieve business goals. 
  • Aligning financial strategies to maximize returns from new product sales, managing timelines, and communicating the opportunity costs of delays. 

The Program Manager for EBS Network Optimisation will develop and monitor key business inputs, identifying strategic touch points that requires a review or change of direction. Adapting to market demands, customer activities, and new technologies will be crucial in implementing and adapting the EBS network strategy to ensure profitability and sustainability.
 

What you will bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or Finance 
  • Post graduate qualifications in a management, program/project management, business or other relevant discipline highly regarded.
  • Manufacturing planning experience
  • Global, international and/or cross-cultural exposure within multiple operating units
  • Experience managing teams and influencing and gaining support from cross-functional stakeholders.
