The opportunity

Due to an internal promotion within the People Services team a new role has become available on a permanent, full-time basis. Reporting into the Team Leader People Operations & Payroll, you will provide support to the Coordinators, People Services and the Advisors, Payroll in the administration of employee related onboarding, payroll set up, and internal movement tracking. In this role that is split 50:50 to support People Services with entry level HR-matters and Payroll, you will also assist with integrity checking between GWW's HRIS (myplace) and Payroll system (Pay Global) and ensure employee records are created and updated to enable accurate employment records and correct payment of entitlements. Impeccable attention to detail along with strong interpersonal skills are essential to your success

Responsibilities

  • Initiate onboarding and hiring processes for new employees, including the sight of identification and other documents.
  • Transfer payroll related information to relevant pay run files, in preparation of first pay.
  • Follow up status of secondments, fixed term contracts and extended leave nearing end dates.
  • Participate in payroll and core HRIS development, upgrades, and fixes.
  • Support the People Services team with administration of remuneration review and EA increases administration.
  • Quarterly checking of employee data between HRIS and Payroll System, PayGlobal.

Skills & Experience

  • Well-developed people skills and the ability to initiate conversations with employees and People leaders across various levels.
  • Some experience or a qualification in a People role or Human Resources.  
  • Ability to work in a team environment, particularly with capability to keep team members informed of progress and actions.
  • Demonstrated experience in administrative tasks highlighting an “attention to detail” approach.
  • Previous experience working with HRIS or Payroll systems will be highly regarded but not essential.
  • Flexibility to work from Footscray and Sunbury offices as well as WFH.
