What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Owning the product vision, strategy and roadmap for Photo Editing at Canva.
  • Diving into the nitty-gritty You’ll be crunching numbers from various sources of quantitative data at Canva in order to inform your roadmap.
  • Spending time speaking to photo editing customers from teams big and small, translating that into insights to inform your future roadmap.
  • Digging into our photo editing competitors on mobile and desktop to understand the market landscape.
  • Partnering with design, engineering, and marketing to ship photo editing features like Image Merge.
  • Collaborating with the Photo AI, Content & Templates, and the Video Editor Teams. You’ll need to coordinate with these teams in order to build an amazing end-to-end Photo Editing product.

You're probably a match if:

  • You are an experienced product manager of a software product launching and landing high-quality products
  • You have an interest in photography. Ideally, we are looking for someone who likes / or is interested in great photography
  • You have a good eye for user experience (UX) and UI, and a strong empathy for users. You have the exceptional ability to empathize and connect with users' perspectives.
  • You are a team player and have strong personal leadership. You know how to collaborate and work with designers and engineering well to ensure high product quality.
  • You have strong qualitative and quantitative skills. You understand and have done customer research, and you have strong critical thinking skills to gather insights and thread them back to various data sources.
  • You are someone who knows how to look at the macro picture and the business strategy, to inform their roadmap and make great decisions.

About the team

The Photo Editor Product Manager at Canva will drive the team’s purpose, and is the bridge between our users and groundbreaking AI technology. The PM’s role is to envision the future of photo creation.
