Job Description

Permanent full time position Afternoon Shift (2:00 pm - 10:00 pm) Based in Welshpool, Perth

The Sample Splitting Technician will be responsible for assisting the laboratory function by ensuring all samples are appropriately prepared and analysed in a timely manner while assisting with various other laboratory duties, to achieve operational, customer and quality requirements.

Key accountabilities will include but not limited to:

Prepare samples for analysis by mixing, blending and weighing, in accordance with sample/analysis requirements and preparation methods. Perform routine analysis, validations and project work in an efficient and effective manner. Ensure external and internal clients’ requirements are met / exceeded. Ensure efficient utilisation of laboratory materials. Operate, calibrate and maintain equipment/instruments as required. Complete all quality control records in accordance with quality requirements and work instructions. Contribute to the continuous improvement of their work area and processes, aiming for better safety, quality, turn-around-time and efficiency. Ensure all mandatory training are completed (E-Learning and Safety Hub) Act in accordance with the Eurofins Code of Ethics, and all other relevant policies and procedures, as updated from time to time.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:

Certificate / Diploma in Laboratory Techniques; or equivalent qualification; or significant laboratory experience. Experience in a commercial laboratory will be an advantage. Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to structure thoughts deliberately, logically and directly. Knowledge of standard office applications, especially MS Word and MS Excel. Strong attention to detail. Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task. Ability to problem solve and work well under pressure. Proven organisational skills with an ability to follow procedures. Full working rights in Australia.
