Due to continued growth and expansion in the venue, we have a new opportunity for a dedicated, reliable chef who wants to be involved in a truly independent, creative and diverse team

Are you a passionate and creative chef ready to take your career to the next level? We're looking for a talented Chef to join our dynamic team at Rusty Water Brewery Restaurant & Bar, where culinary excellence meets a vibrant dining experience.

In this role, your main responsibilities include:

·        Collaborate with the Head Chef in planning menus and creating new dishes

·        Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and fostering a positive work environment

·        Monitor and manage kitchen inventory, minimizing waste and controlling costs

·        Train and mentor kitchen staff on culinary techniques and standards

·        Ensure food is presented well while making sure the consistent taste

·        Check the cool room temperature and freezer to ensure proper storage conditions

·        Preparing for service which includes ensuring the kitchen is well stocked with the necessary ingredients, as well as cleaning, cutting and maintaining food

·        Cooking and serving food whilst coordinating with head chef and other kitchen staff and front of house staff

·        Any other tasks allocated by the Head Chef or the restaurant manager

Qualifications and experience

·        Be qualified in hospitality with AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) or have minimum three years’ experience as a Chef in a Commercial Kitchen

·        Ideally at least 2 years full-time experience

·        Experience creating exciting menus

The successful candidate will have a passion for the hospitality industry and be career focused.

The key skills will include:

·        good working knowledge of WHS standards

·        able to maintain a clean kitchen and use kitchen appliances and equipment safely

·        enjoy working to high standards in a fast-paced environment

·        highly organized with the ability to supervise and support the team in kitchen operations

·        create and produce food items that fit with current offerings
