Contract: ASAP - 3rd Nov 2024
Pay Rate: $40-$45 per hour + super.
Location: Lab based role - WEST RYDE 2114
Purpose of the role:
Perform routine and non-routine analyses of samples from a variety of environments, using a range of equipment in accordance with procedures to meet customer quality and time expectations and regulatory and operational requirements, with minimal or no supervision.
Lab – Water
- Perform preparation and analysis of samples for routine analysis applicable to the tests; BOD, Oil & Grease, water quality parameters, nutrient preparation and analysis using FIA, Discreet Analyser, Seal.
- Tasks may include operation and calibration of scientific instrumentation, collecting samples, receiving samples, Preparation, extraction, concentration, digestion and analysis of WATER samples.
- Routine chemical or biological analysis of water and wastewater products in accordance with procedures
- Operate laboratory instruments and equipment in accordance with training and instruction.
- Check relevant data entry for accuracy, report unusual results and issues immediately to a Supervisor, Team Leader or Manager
- Work safely, undertake risk assessments and report hazards and incidents, knowledge of handling and storage of potentially hazardous materials
Experience required:
- 1-2years experience POSSIBLY will consider any recent graduates who are self-motivated and willing to learn.
- Must have basic understanding of PCR techniques
- Essential: Experience in using spectrophotometers and microscopes
