About the Division / Team

Our Interstate network is responsible for the management of approximately 6,000km of track and servicing a broad range of supply chains. The team comprises more than 500 staff and 24 provisioning centres and depots, which continue to deliver major corridor maintenance works and projects across the country to increase the efficiency and capacity of Australia’s rail network.

About the Opportunity

Infrastructure Maintainers carry out the physicalwork of maintaining ARTC’s rail track, including preventative and reactivemaintenance activities, as well as undertaking minor construction for plannedcapital upgrades. Infrastructure Maintainers undertake general labouring, trackmaintenance duties, safety protection work, visual inspections of ARTC’s railtrack, operating heavy machinery, welding and other maintenance tasks whilemeeting ARTC standards.

About You

To ensure success in this position, applicants will be able to demonstrate:

Current unrestricted drivers licence and proficiency in driving a manual car. Computer proficiency - Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to work in a team environment.

Desirable 

Past or present Rail Industry experience, specifically in track maintenance. A Heavy Rigid Licence or willingness to obtain one. High Risk Licence and experience in operating heavy plant equipment (Excavator, Forklift and Front End Loader are highly desirable) Construction industry induction (white card).
