About the Role

IRT Group is seeking a motivated Legal Counsel.  Reporting to the head of the legal team, the role represents a great opportunity to support all teams in the business and across various areas of law, including, contracts, litigation, acquisitions, property, privacy, employment and aged care/retirement village general advice.  If you are ready to take the next step in your legal career this role is for you 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide sound, commercially pragmatic legal advice in a timely manner on a wide range of matters
  • Advocate compliance with relevant legislation, while maintaining an in-depth understanding of legal requirements
  • Support management with strategic initiatives
  • Assist with the day-to-day operations of the legal team and development of precedents and procedures 

This position is a hybrid working model, with a mixture of working from home and in-office days required. 

To Be Successful You Will Have

  • Up to 2 years’ experience in a corporate / commercial law position, preferably including in-house experience
  • High level analytical, negotiation and contract drafting skills
  • A collaborative and innovative mindset to the delivery of legal services
  • Desirable: Previous experience within the Aged Care / Retirement Village 
  • Desirable: Previous experience in litigation, property law, employment law and IT contracts
