SASH is excited to announce our new, state of the art emergency and referral hospital in Balgowlah, Northern Beaches. Our hospital is scheduled to open towards the end of 2024. Providing veterinary excellence in the core services of medicine, surgery, emergency with critical care, dermatology and oncology.
About the Role:
This role will be responsible for leading, supervising and providing on-going training and support to our nursing team. We are looking for a nurse with a leadership background who is seeking a dynamic role, working closely with our hands on leadership team, this person will also be required to work a mixture of clinical and administrative shifts. This is a full-time, permanent position however we would consider a part-time position for the right person. Tasks include but are not limited to:
- Management of the Nursing teams
- Ownership of the team roster
- Assist with day to day running and workflow of the hospital
- Recruitment of nurses, in partnership with Talent Acquisition team
- Training, mentoring and support of the nursing team
- Monitor policies and procedures, ensuring adherence including hospital hygiene practices
- Mentor, lead and coach the nursing team in all aspects of their role
- Point of escalation and liaison between the team and clients as required
- Clinical nursing duties
About You:
As a leader, you will be passionate about building your team up and equipping them with the tools to be successful. You will be someone who thrives off supporting others while being committed to continuous improvement. To be considered for the position, you will have:
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
- A minimum of 5 years nursing experience in a full-time capacity
- Prior experience in management and leading a team (large teams will be highly regarded)
- Ability to motivate and encourage team members
- Exceptional organisational skills while effectively balancing competing priorities
- High level of flexibility, enthusiasm, initiative and a willingness to learn new skills and take on new tasks, as required
- Problem solving and decision-making skills
- Exceptional observation and communication skills
- Ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders throughout the business
