Here at Deputy, we know that diverse perspectives foster the innovation we need to be successful, and we are committed to building a team that encompasses a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and skills.As a Software Engineer (Platform, Security & Risks) you will be working closely with your peers across product, design and leadership to build amazing products and features for the Deputy platform, delivering services and products to millions of users and businesses from small & medium to enterprise.You will be a part of the platform core team, looking after the security aspects of system services and infrastructure. Working with other product & engineering teams to build foundational and reusable systems, services and architecture.

Responsibilites

Design and implement solutions -- with consideration to cloud security best practices, applying security principles to systems and applications using modern industry best practices. Align with our compliance and security controls to mitigate platform and organisational risks. Encourage innovation and foster an environment of continuous improvement. Engage in technical discussion of solutions and ideas through planning, documentation, design reviews, pair programming, code review and technology discussions. Mentor and guide more junior engineers in an impactful and meaningful way to their growth trajectory.

Skills & Experience

You are a problem solver and are able to tackle highly complex and ambiguous problems, balancing the right tradeoffs in a pragmatic way. Strong experience in information security fundamentals, you have been working in the industry for a number of years, and are looking to use your skills and experience to build a great Platform Security function. Experience with distributed web based applications services (we use PHP, Go & JS) and their security posture, risk, and vulnerability remediation. Experience with SAST & DAST, CI/CD pipelines, and associated security toolings around SDLC ( GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, Snyk, etc). Deep knowledge on web application vulnerabilities, secure coding and fundamentals on cryptography ( OWASP). Experience with building and testing Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Plans in the cloud (AWS) across multiple regions. Experience with authentication & authorization platforms, CIAM, OAuth2, OpenID, and ensuring high customer security posture.
